We Are A Healthy School
In Graig Y Rhacca Primary and Nursery Community School we try to be the best we can be and in order to do this, being healthy and active is very important. We work in school to have a healthy body and a healthy mind and also to fuel our bodies in the healthiest ways. We offer a daily fruit tuck service in classes where pupils can enjoy a range of seasonal fruit. We also encourage our pupils to drink water to stay hydrated.
Our pupils take part in a range of physical activities as part of the curriculum and we also take part in a Daily Mile session in the afternoons. The Daily Mile session helps us to have a physical and mental break from our work so we are ready and refreshed for the last lesson of the day.
Our Health and Wellbeing Committee support and encourage other pupils to make healthy choices and to enjoy a range of activities and games on the yard.
We encourage all pupils to eat a healthy diet. Many of our pupils attend Breakfast Club and also enjoy a delicious lunchtime meal, cooked and served by our wonderful dinner ladies. If you like to find out more about school lunches, please click on the link below -
