Daily 10

Here are the 10 activities you need to do every day this week to keep on top of those important basic skills. They are the similar to last week with one or two changes to ensure progression. Please see week 1's Daily 10 page for resources and links you can use to support this. Any resources for new Daily 10 activities will be at the bottom of this week's Daily 10 list.

  • Let’s Get Physical! (PE with Joe, Go Noodle, Just Dance. Yoga with Miss Thain etc) There are lots of links and ideas on the school website. Look in our class page and also in the ‘Learning at Home’ area in the ‘Key Information’ menu.

  • Name writing - practice writing your name every day using the correct letter formation. This can be done on plain paper, or you can print off the page for name writing in the work pack. When your child is secure with thwir first name, move on to their surname.

  • Dexterity / pencil control. There are lots of things you can do to develop dexterity / pencil control. See Week 1's Daily 10 page for weblinks and ideas etc. There are also lots of ideas in 'My Friend Recommends' and on our Seesaw Blog.

  • Letter formation - Practice correct formation of the letters c, o, a, d, g. They all start in the same way and are called the ‘Curly Caterpillar’ letters. I have made videos to help with this. They are on Seesaw and are also on the class web page in the Extras section in this week’s Home Learning Plan.

  • Counting - Daily counting to 100, and in 2’s and 10’s and backwards from 20. If your child is secure with counting in all these ways, move on to counting in 5's.

  • Singing - Use the 'Out of the Ark' website to help your child learn some fun songs…they might even recognise some from our assemblies at school!

  • Number formation - try to aim to be able to form all numbers to 10 the right way around by the time we go back to school! If secure with digits to 10 (all formed correctly and the right way around) then work on writing numbers to 20.

  • Mindfulness  - See the ‘Mindfulness’ resources in the ‘Learning at Home’ area of the school website in the ‘Key Information’ menu.

  • Story Time- Take time to share a book. There are lots of resources on the internet for story time but there is nothing better for a child than having a story read by a parent / carer.

  • Reading - Everyone should be signed up to Oxford Owl now, it has been detailed on here for the last 5 weeks. If you haven’t signed up and need further information please ask.

Please see last week's Home Learning Plan Daily 10 for any resources that are needed for new Daily 10 activities. See the Extras page for the Curly Caterpillar videos.
