Welcome to the Autumn term 2016 in D3
For our OWOW topic we visited Kansas and learnt all about the popular foods, sports, music and national emblems. We had lots of fun.
Our class text for this half term is The Wizard of Oz.
An important reminder
PE KITS are needed every week for Monday and Wednesday PE sessions
You will need to make sure that in your PE bag you have PE kit suitable for both outdoor and indoor PE activities as your child will have the opportunity to experience PE and related PE activities both indoors and outdoors. Please ensure that your child has suitable outdoor clothing for PE, including a pair of trainers, joggers and a warm top.
WELLIES and wet weather coats
Please make sure that your child has in school suitable outdoor clothing. This needs to include a pair of wellies and a waterproof coat. We have so many opportunities to explore the outdoor curriculum and the children have daily opportunities to develop their skills through outdoor learning experiences.
Your child will experience enhanced learning through the outdoors on most days- come rain or shine. During this half term children in D3 will be engaging in Forest Schools with Mrs Ives so will need wellies in school or old shoes suitable for the forest.
Homework activities are issued every Thursday, to be returned completed on the Monday.
Homework includes a written activity, spellings and times-tables. In addition there are home reading opportunities, where pupils have a book from the reading scheme.
On a Monday your child will also be given a 'talking question' to discuss with you.
Please support you child by helping them complete the homework activities set and handing them in on time.
Tuck is 50p per week.

During our 'One World, Our World' celebration we visited The New Forest. We found an artist called Pete Gilbert, who very kindly gave us a book of his beautiful pictures. We painted in his style and thoroughly enjoyed it!
